Our cryogen-free dilution refrigerators provide convenient and affordable cooling of devices to <10 mK temperatures.

JDry models optimized for quantum computing applications can accept up to 270 semirigid cables.

Astronomy/detector cooling and general-purpose configurations are also available

The JanisULT JDry cryogen-free dilution refrigerator series includes two standard models, both offering convenient push-button cooling to <10 mK using a single pulse tube cryocooler.

The JDry-250-QT includes a 305 mm (12”) diameter cold plate and offers >250 µW @ 100 mK cooling power.

The larger JDry-500-QPro is equipped with a 508 mm (20”) diameter cold plate, and offers >450 µW of cooling power.

The powerful, fully automated NI LabVIEW™ based “JACoB” gas handling controller lets you run the system, without the system running your life!

  • JanisULT Quantum DR's incorporate a 10K plate using the available cooling power between the two PTR stages - this reduces the heat-load onto the 3K stage of the PTR with the following benefits:
    • No compressor needed to condense the mixture! Less pumps to maintain = less noise, lower vibrations and lower risk of failure
    • Enables use of a lower power PTR vs competitors, reducing vibration levels and cost of maintenance
    • Larger system operates with a single PTR where competitors use two - lower energy consumption, lower noise and vibration, and lower maintenance costs

    • Same technology used by JanisULT for UHV compatible dilution refrigerators - quality and cleanliness guaranteed!
    • Only silver brazing and TIG welding is used to fabricate the heat exchangers, mixing chamber, and all components of the refrigerator “core.” No soft solders are used in the mK region of the system, eliminating this common source of leakage in dilution refrigerators

Convenient Automated Operation

JACoB automated gas handling system for dilution refrigerators

    • Can be operated manually if desired, or in fully automatic mode via preconfigured scripts.
  • The graphical user interface (GUI) provides intuitive information about the state of all valves, gauges, and pumps.
  • An industrial strength National Instruments Linux based controller running LabVIEW™ ensures reliable system operation, including advanced power management features.
  • API programming language
    • Allows user-developed or third-party experimental software to interact with the LabVIEW™ system control software.
